Make the most of your social media posts and captions. Use them as a way to share longer pieces of information and even as a place to answer questions!!
Today I saw a post on Instagram that disappointed me. It was a post by a local law firm (I don’t follow them so you wont find them on my Instagram). The caption started off well – it contained two rather interesting questions.
They explained that they have received those questions and that they had also received other similarly interesting questions too. But then they disappointed me by failing to answer the questions.
Instead of answering the questions there and then, in the Instagram caption, they said the answer to those and others can be found on their website. This to me was a missed opportunity.
They had caught my attention with the questions (and most likely the attention of others too), but then they wanted us to leave Instagram to find the answers… Why? Why? Why?
Why not use that space to answer the question. Even if the questions has already been answered on their website, answer it again. Copy and Paste if you need to.
Although social media can be used as a tool to drive traffic to your website, you are missing out if you aren’t making the most of your social media network. They could have easily provided the answer to the questions there; and then if they wanted, as a call to action, they could tell us that their website has other interesting questions and answers.
Answering questions is a simple way to create social media content for your social media networks. It will show your knowledge and can build trust with your audience. Click To TweetIf you ever find yourself drafting a similar post, put the answer directly into your social media caption. Your followers and your audience will appreciate it.
